Each February, our school holds its largest fundraising event of the year, the Annual Auction and Italian Dinner. This fun-filled event includes a robust silent auction, raffles, paddle raise and culminates with a live auction with funds benefiting school programs, facilities and the Tuition Assistance Program. This highly anticipated evening is a highlight of the school year and also takes a village of volunteers to ensure its success! Procurement, decorations, basketing, class project creation, set-up and clean-up are just some of the areas of need. The auction is also an opportunity for local businesses to serve as Corporate Champions.
Fund Run
The STM Fund Run is held in late September/early October. Throughout the month of September students actively participate in fundraising for their school with the help of friends, families and community members. In the weeks leading up to the Fund Run, students are given challenges and opportunities to earn small prizes to encourage them as a class and as individuals to raise funds. On the day of the Fund Run students celebrate their hard work by enjoying a carnival following their run complete with games, face painting, cake walk and a free hot dog lunch!
8th Grade Fundraising
For over 20 years the St. Thomas More 8th grade class has made an annual trip to Washington, D.C. for a 10-day tour of the area's most historically-rich attractions. Destinations include Jamestown, Mt. Vernon, Arlington, the African American Museum and Virginia Beach. To experience history in this way is a unique opportunity allowed by the commitment of our staff and students, as well as the generosity of our supporters.
Students earn funds for this trip by actively participating in the 8th Grade Workforce. Their assignments include yardwork, housework, babysitting and more. Reach out to our scheduler at [email protected] if you could utilize these services.
Other 8th grade fundraisers include pancake breakfast tickets, butter braids and hanging flower baskets. Check back for opportunities to participate.
